Vishoka Meditation
Vishoka meditation is a technique-based practice that begins with the five foundational principles of health. Derived from the Yoga Sutra, it includes preparatory practices, asana, and a variety of pranayama techniques. The Vishoka world view focuses on our innate nature being joyful, tranquil, and luminous.
The goal of Vishoka meditation is cultivation of pranic awareness and absorption as we train the mind to flow inward, strengthening our container and connecting or re-connecting with our purpose. When our thoughts, words, and actions are aligned with our higher self, the cells of our body dance together in balanced rhythm and joy.
By training our awareness to flow peacefully inward, we purify our minds and cultivate the qualities of jyotishmati (inner luminosity) and Vishoka (sorrowless joy) that can then infuse our life and affect those around us in a positive way. A focused mind in a condensed panic field can do amazing things . . . bring greater joy, productivity and skillfulness, and allow us to be fully engaged with life. To nourish the mind we must cultivate a clear, calm, one-pointed, tranquil mind.
Vishoka meditation (sometimes referred to by other names) resurfaces when the world needs it. The Vishoka program is offered through the Himalayan Institute, a world leader in the fields of yoga, meditation, spirituality, and holistic health.
