Travel Info
Fly to Singapore, then to Ngurah Rai international airport (DPS) in Indonesia. It is one hour to Uma (our retreat center) from the airport, or 30 minutes from Denpasar, the capital of Bali. You will be met at the airport by a private shuttle, and we will take care of everything from then on!
We like to consider the travel portion of the trip to be a part of the pilgrimage. If approached in this way, you may be surprised at who you meet along the way and how delightful it can be to travel mindfully. Singapore is an exciting place to spend a day or two if you wish to pause and rest or explore before continuing on to Bali. It can be exhilarating to travel completely around the world, especially when done with a sense of adventure and ease.
For U.S. citizens, travel to Bali Indonesia for a period of 30 days or less does not require a visa. However, please be sure that you have a valid passport that expires no sooner than 6 months beyond the end of our trip (October 24th, 2016).
Weather
We have planned this retreat for April, a lovely time of year in Bali, just after the rainy season when everything is lush and green while not as humid. This time of year is less crowded than peak season and we have heard that airfares are more reasonable. Average temperature in April is 80°. The Ubud area of Bali is cooler than the rest of the country, and very pleasant.
Extended Stay
You will be traveling around the world to an exotic and tantalizing place. Thus, you might consider extending your time here beyond the end of the retreat. We will provide you with a list of affordable options for accommodations and wonderful restaurants. It is safe, and not expensive to spend time in Bali.
